Have you become a Junkie?

When you have an immense build up of toxic waste in your system.  You usually feel sluggish, tired, worn out, burnt out and energy less. This is how you feel constantly until you decide to do something about it.  When I was young somehow my mother or grandmother would sense that I needed a "detox session".

Decades later, my mom filled me in on how she "miracalously" knew when we needed some detoxing. These are the symptoms are she would pick on: smelly breath (despite brushing teeth twice  a day plus mouth washing), heavy, worn outeyes (even though having slept the recommended 8 hours) and smelly arm pits.

The remedy: using ucatho. This devise is a rounded rubber container with a plastic tip, it acts as a syringe which extracts some natural herbal stuff mixed with water that cleanse you from the inside from all toxins.  This is done by squeezing the rubber part, then the liquid comes out from the tip.  Its more or less like the European colonic. See our parents knew what they were doing, after all!  For centuries Africa was thought to be backward but in fact it was advanced in many ways especially medically...

We are bombarded on a daily basis by news, what the celebrities are up to, in fact in recent years celebrity news has managed to be classified as real news, emails, junk emails, junk mail, newspapers, magazines, gossip, unprofitable conversations,  facebook - ever so curious what others are doing, bebo, youtube, myspace, secular music and movies, and loads of other distractions. After years of being overwhelmed and feeding on all the media junk, the signs begin to show.  Yes it is junk - most of the news 99.9999 %  is bad news and that the way the media moguls want to keep it - that's another blog all together.

Always taking in junk - media junk - we eventually have toxins in excess that's why we feeling spiritually sluggish.  In no time at all we have no time pray - to talk to God. No time to read the bible -  can't hear the voice of God instructing us.  Our eyes become heavy - we cannot pay attention to His instructions or keep our focus on Him, we start looking more to friends, the problems and the fact that we don't have time to spare to even go to church well because we are far too busy with friends and other "important" things.

One knows that they have an overflow of "toxins" when they start smelling funny.  They try to cover it up with "fragrant designer perfumes" - it does the trick for a short while but the stench starts creeping up again. Whenever they open their mouth - it's stinks - not physically but what they say is not beneficial but mostly causes carnage, cause wild fires wherever they go.  Their arm pits stink - not physically - but their behaviour, attitudes and character are in a downward spiral.

Romans 3:13
“Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave.Their tongues are filled with lies.”“Snake venom drips from their lips.”

So in these 21 days I decided to cut myself off and switch myself out from the media and other unbeneficial things.  For one aim, to nurture my relationship with my Creator! To rekindle the fire, to re-ignite the connection I formed with Him in 1999.  I was busy with useless things but now I'm busy with eternal things! Oh! What a Day!

When the sun bows out, with a smile

Nothing takes away the blow that hits your shallow pit of your stomach.  Closely followed by the stream of tears that involuntarily drip from your face. As I continuously and repeatedly moaned "No! No!" It can't be I thought out loud. I have just learnt that the mother of one of my best friends has passed away. What's upsetting is that a gentle shining star has been returned to her Creator. She was a woman of faith. Having been through the loss of one of her daughters recently, she stood in her faith and kept marching on. Through the pain of loss. She trusted and depended on the Author of her life. She was the one who told us off as we tried to go to places where we were not supposed to.  She never minced her words nor her opinions which were based on her faith. The same faith that we professed and tried to lead. But as teenagers, we thought she was cramping our style. Yet she tried to protect us. It's true we do not know the hour. Her hour came wi...

Sisters for life

My Big sis Gugu and my cousin Sne Letters to my sisters, I have decided to write these letters not only to stay in touch but also to play a role in your life as I am not close by for those moments of need, when you need someone to talk to, when you need a shoulder to cry and when you need a true friend.   These are letters are not only addressed to my physical sisters, but also to all women in general.   Especially those who are about to enter the next most important a crucial phase of their lives: adulthood.     I am hoping these letters will bridge the gap of the physical distance that separates us, presently.   Above all I hope these letters will ignite hope, confidence, self-belief and a living faith in the one who holds all things in His Hands. I promise not to judge you but to show you a sisterly love.   I promise not to criticize you, but to boost your confidence.   I promise not to put down with words that will create doubts, but to lift ...

Lowest Point

Have you ever reached a point in your life when you have felt like it just cannot get any worse, when you feel you have reached rock bottom. Well that is the phase that I am currently going through at this present moment. Bear with me as I attempt to fill you in. Well it all begun about 4 weeks ago when I went into work one Tuesday, I worked for a concession within a Mega clothing Store in Oxford Circus. I had just come back a day before from a lovely chilled out week long break I was feeling refreshed, energised and ready to face the challenges of working in the hectic environment that I worked in. A liitle background on what I was doing at this particular job, well I was kind of in charge of the concession because I worked full time, so if anything went wronge it would all go onto my head. I I started the long day at 8:30am and had to finish at 6pm but most of the time I clocked out at 6:20-6:30pm. I don't mind hard work but working under stressful environment was what I had t...
